Last Tuesday, Echolocation launched our joint contest chapbook at the Victory Cafe in Toronto. Qwerty editor Rebecca was in attendance, and brought photographic evidence back East to feed our half of the chapbook fiends. Be on the lookout for ectoplasmic projections of editor Micah in these photos, and for the far less hypothetical announcement for the chapbook’s Fredericton launch!
Echolocation editor Andre Baby launches the new chapbook, and offers a shout-out to fellow editor Laura Ritland, who was in Vancouver. We’re coast-to-coasting, us folks.
Marcus Creaghan received an honourable mention in the contest–read his story “Looping String” in the chapbook!
Another of our honourable mentions, Max Karpinski, reads from his poem sequence “The Expendables 2 2, or, Eleven Stunt Doubles Walk Into A Bar, You Won’t Believe What Happens Next!, or, After Stallone.” It’s as epic as it sounds.
Catriona Wright reads, and offers sage advice on how to cope giving birth to blue rabbits.
Joseph Thomas of Echolocation mans the book table.
Original artwork by Dmitry Bondarenko, who illustrated the chapbook. He’s a rockstar, and we mean it.
